It has come to our attention, more times than I care to say, that this company has been confused with us, hence the need for this page. For those that have used this company we invite you to sign our guest book and tell us your personal experience. We will only post them with your consent.
Customers have come in after a visit to the other shop saying: "we were told the Speaker Shop only sells old models or used equipment." The truth is, we sell only NEW models from companies like Pioneer Elite, Phase Technology, Klipsch Reference, Definitive Technology, Cambridge Audio, Mirage, Knoll, and many more affordable quality products for which we are an authorized dealer and warranty center. Stop in to see for yourself.
The stories are amazing! This company says it has been in the home audio and video business 31 years, and Al tells inquiring customers that he, "taught me everything I know." The truth is that, AFTER I established my business in 1973, this guy was a DJ and used record dealer in Austintown, Ohio, next to a Japanese massage parlor. All those massage oil fumes must have went to his head when he started to imagine he was us, and the tall tales began.
Here's a fact: Al offers a free Blu-ray player worth $2000.00 on your bid that actually retails for $599.00. We actually have the bid, given to us by our new customer, for proof. Now who are you going to believe?
The Speaker Shop is NOT the Sound Shop. We pride ourselves on selling affordable quality products, and unlike the Sound Shop, we actually service our clients needs after the sale. There are too many poor Sound Shop customer reports to include here that support this fact. Here's an example: one of their old customers told us that after their system was installed by the Sound Shop, the installers gave them their own cell phone numbers because, "Al will never call you back."
The lack of honesty by persons like this has given many of you a bad taste for audio specialty dealers forcing you to go to the big box stores, where knowledge is questionable and most products are on static display. Come see and hear the difference.
The Speaker Shop is located at 9074 Market Street North Lima, Ohio, in a building built architecturally for audio by us in 1989. Not a remodeled motorcycle shop he claims to have built just for you. Yet another story, and it goes on and on . . . .

Absolutely the worst experience I have...
May 28, 2010
Well
my first impression was correct. I had an appointment with Al Gallo and
the salesman said he was runnning a liitle behind. I waited for almost
an hour before Al showed up and blamed his office girl for getting the
appointment times incorrect. It was all downhill from there! I could not
believe that this guy is in business. He did not show up to my new
construction home to do a site survey till 2 days later. I did finally
end up with an agreement with Al only to have him say he was running
behind on another project and would be several days till he could get to
my home. It was holding up my home and the builder said he needs to
come out and get his stuff ran or they was going to insulate. He knew in
advance this was the case but for him to be the professional he seemed
like he never done this before. Long story short I cancelled the
contract and had to find another company to finish. Still do not have my
deposit back and it has been almost 6 months. Stay away from this
crook! Ray

It has been a year since Al and his guys finished my home. I contacted them almost two years ago to install a complete system in my home under construction. If I would have known then what I know now I would have never used them. He seemed to be knowledgeable on the items he put together for me. His prices where a little more than the average shops in the area. That is where all the glitz and glam stopped. His staff did not know what to do once they got there, we went back and forth and said they would have to talk to Al about the changes. The price went up as the project went on. Not because I made additional changes, but because he said technologies changes and the price needs to change. All to my disadvantage, I had a contract for certain items, installed to his companies and my specs and agreement. Never did this all happen. Over a year later and no return calls, no one year warranty. Just a plain disaster and a complete waste of my money. I can not recommend this company or Al. I can not believe this poorly ran company that is apparently running on a shoestring budget is still in business today. Good luck getting service with these guys. Roger M
