Electro-Voice®’s unique EVI Vari Intense® (VI) speakers are engineered to eliminate the need for additional long-throw horns or delayed sources in many rooms. The EVI Vari Intense® series provides an economical solution for permanent installations that require coverage over a rectangular area.
In a typical room, the distance from the loudspeaker to the last row is two or more times the distance to the front row, resulting in a substantial losses of level and intelligibility in the back. The VI horn delivers six to eight dB more SPL to the back of the room, overcoming level loss without resorting to the expense and complexity of additional systems or components. The problem is old; EV®’s solution is new. EVI is perfect for conference centers, houses-of-worship, halls, and other venues where evenly distributed SPL is essential. EVI systems are made of 18-mm 13-ply birch plywood (EVI 28: 12-mm, nine-ply), and texture-painted with a powder-coated, metal grille.
A simple three-two-one rule-of-thumb applies when determining EVI coverage patterns: A pattern’s width is equal to twice the height of the room, and a pattern’s length is equal to three times the height of the room.

FRi+ adds the performance of the large-format DH7 driver and the choice of more coverage pattern.

The FRi-2082 is an ultracompact, two-way, dual, eight-inch, low-ceiling/low-profile, full-range system. 100 degree x 100 degree horn for wide coverage in both planes. Dual, eight-inch woofers function as frequency shades to prevent mid-band lobing. Unique asymetrical cross section facilitates both ceiling and wall mounting. Mounting bracket included.

FRX+ Series
Electro-Voice's FRX+ Series loudspeakers are designed for applications in critical, reverberant spaces where excellent directivity control is paramount. Small-sized speaker systems cannot maintain rated coverage angles below 2,000 Hz, and their wide beamwidth in the low mid-band causes serious degradation of speech intelligibility, and sacrifices music clarity in reverberant spaces.
FRX+ systems overcome the problems of reverberant spaces with excellent wide-band directivity control. The all-horn-loaded, coaxial design produces sufficient radiation surface to trim coverage angles to 250 Hz at moderate cabinet sizes.
FRX+ 640/660/940 cabinets are texture-painted, seven-ply plywood with powder-coated, steel grilles backed with foam. The FRX-122 has a cloth-covered grille.
For outdoor purposes, FRX+640/660/940 PI models are equipped with weatherized woofers, powder-coated, stainless-steel grilles backed with multi-layer foam, and covered glandnut input panels.

The FRX+940 is a coaxial, two-way, horn-loaded, 15-inch, medium-throw, full-range speaker system. It features a 90 degree x 40 degree coverage pattern.
Xi-Series
The Electro-Voice® Xi-Series™ brings premium, tour-quality sound to installation. Inspired by the features of EV´s acclaimed X-Array™ touring systems, the Xi-Series™ incorporates a potent combination of high-output and ultra-linear short, medium, and long-throw systems in two-way, three-way, and four-way configurations. Xi-Series™ loudspeakers incorporate the acoustic advantage of EV´s Ring-Mode Decoupling (RMD™), and features HP horns to secure excellent directivity control and even coverage.
The three-way systems can be operated in a Vertical Beam Shaping (VBS™) configuration using an EV Dx38 processor or the DSP in our P-Series RL amplifiers.This unique approach extends the vertical coverage angle control as low as 125Hz - well below that permitted by the mid-bass horn alone (about 800Hz). These can be thought of as two and three-element, low-frequency line arrays. This extraordinary low-frequency control is achieved through optimized woofer placement in conjunction with presets that overlap individual components (using All Pass Filters). To achieve sound performance without compromises, Xi-Series™ is designed for multi-way active operation, except the Xi-1082, which contains a passive crossover network.
Xi-Series™ is made of 18 mm, 13-ply birch plywood finished in black, textured paint and full-face protected by a powder-coated, steel front-grille backed with foam. These horn-loaded systems, except Xi-1123A/106F and Xi-212A3/106F, have an identical footprint for an uniform look. All systems, except the Xi-1082, have integrated handles and two L-Tracks on the top and bottom.
Xi-2122MHA
The Electro-Voice® Xi-2122MHA delivers unprecedented high-level output in a two-way design. It features dual ND12A 12-inch, neodymium, mid-bass drivers, and a coaxially mounted, dual ND6-16 three-inch diaphragm. The Xi-2122MHA also features a high-frequency compression driver for very high output. The system has a far-field, long-throw, 40 degree x 20 degree coverage pattern, and comes with built-in L-Track rigging. The footprint is identical to the Xi-1153A, Xi-1183A, Xi-2153A, Xi-1191A (F) and Xi-2181A (F).
