Xn
The Electro-Voice® Xn is a three-way, 18-inch, medium-throw, full-range system. It features a horn-loaded mid-bass section, and an asymmetrically placed, coaxial, high-frequency section (RMD™ technique).
X-Line
Development of the new Electro-Voice® X-Line™ system was driven by the need for a high-level concert touring enclosure that could combine the sonic impact and vocal intelligibility of the renowned X-Array™ system with the uniform, predictable coverage that only a line-array configuration can deliver. The EV engineering team set out to develop the next generation of line-array systems, combining their years of experience from the development of X-Array™ with the latest state-of-the-art technologies. Of course, X-Line™ features the essential acoustical advantage of RMD™.
The X-Line™ system was designed to provide wide horizontal dispersion (90 degrees) from a single, vertical line-array while providing exceptionally coherent wavefront summing in the vertical plane. At the heart of X-Line™ is a proprietary, high-frequency wavefront alignment and summation device - the Hydra™ - that provides planar and time-coherent signal addition. The broad bandwidth vertical planar summing provides uniform sound field distribution throughout the listening area.
Stereo imaging is improved by the X-Line's full-bandwidth, mid-bass loading. Extended low-frequency polar control produces more uniform power response, further enhancing overall intelligibility. The overall power response of the X-Line™ is very uniform across a wide frequency spectrum, enabling the system's musical sonic character.
Xvls
Cabinet
The Electro-Voice® Xvls is a high-output, 2,000-watt, three-way, LF/MB/HF linear-array technology system in a rectangular cabinet designed for the upper section of a linear array. The Xvls has a 90 degree horizontal coverage pattern, ideal for long throw applications. Its vertical coverage angle is approximately five degrees. The Xvls high-frequency section is comprised of three neodymium ND5A high-frequency compression drivers, dual, eight-inch, neodymium ND08 MB woofers mounted on a wide mid-bass horn, and dual, 15-inch EVX 155RMDDP (plate) low-frequency woofers.
A new EV Hydra™ time synchronized, high-frequency vertical plane wave generator provides excellent far-field summing. The cabinet's high-frequency section is asymmetrically loaded, providing flexibility to configure systems with high-frequency placed on or off stage. Ring Mode Decoupling (RMD) provides level-independent fidelity, greater mid-bass clarity and high-frequency accuracy. New proprietary rigging allows for rapid venue load-in and load-out, linking hardware included. One of four application specific X-Line™ models.
Xlc
Where the full-sized X-Line meets the acoustic demands of the largest venues and arenas, the X-Line Compact (XLC) is designed to provide equally outstanding sonic quality in a wide variety of venues, all with easy setup and transportation. Whether at a medium-sized festival, in a large concert hall or house of worship, or as a supplementary system used with X-Line at the world’s largest events, XLC has a proven record of performance second to none. It is no wonder why XLC is one of the world’s most popular line array systems.
The latest additions to XLC are based on the all-new, DVX transducer platform: the XLC127DVX full-range system, and the XLC215 LF/sub element featuring two DVX3150 woofers. The XLC127DVX is a step up from the 127+: it utilizes the same high output ND6-HYDRA™ high-frequency section, but provides more low-frequency capability with the DVX3121 12-inch, forced-air-cooled, low-frequency driver, along with lower distortion and more mmid-range headroom with the new DVN2065 mid-bass woofers. Both new XLC-DVX models are available as installation versions, with simplified rigging for permanent installations. Existing XLC127+ systems can be easily upgraded to XLC127DVX.
Xlc127DVX / Xlci127DVX
The XLC127DVX is the new main component used to create an XLC line array featuring EV’s latest DVX woofers.
An XLC array can use a minimum of four cabinets, and a reasonable array uses six to eight boxes, with a maximum of 16 used for larger arenas. The three-way, axis-asymmetric design includes a single DVX3121 12-inch low-frequency, mid-bass woofer; the mid-frequency bandpass is comprised of two 6.5-inch, horn-loaded DVN2065 woofers in a vertical array.
The XLC127DVX uses two ND6 (three-inch voice-coil) neodymium compression drivers loaded on two Hydra™ plane wave generators. With a horizontal coverage of 120 degrees, the XLC system accurately covers wide areas while maintaining excellent imaging and lobe-free coverage. The XLC127DVX is designed for triamp operation. To allow for biamp operation, an internal x-over for mid-bass and high frequencies is available as an accessory.
The Xlci127DVX version is designed for permanent installation applications, with specially designed mounting hardware for easy, cost-effective hanging.
Xlvc
Xlvc is a full-bandwidth line array for demanding applications. Whenever high-performance audio and limited size and weight have to be combined, the Electro-Voice X-Line Very Compact is the answer.
While expectations of audio performance in terms of SPL, natural response, and uniform coverage have expanded, demand for smaller, lighter sound systems has increased. X-Line Very Compact offers the best of both worlds: XLD systems are capable of producing concert SPL levels on full bandwidth in small to medium-sized venues. Smaller XLE-systems are ideal for critical audio requirements where cluster size is the highest priority. Both systems are well-suited for many types of live and install applications.
EV’s Hydra™, used in X-Line and XLC, has a height of seven-inches (17.5 cm). In order to maintain extraordinary high-frequency response, a new four-inch (10 cm) Hydra was developed to match the DVN2080 eight-inch woofer. Each Hydra is driven by the new ND2S, a two-inch, neodymium compression driver. A single waveguide is fed with the plane wave from the Hydras resulting in wide bandwidth, even horizontal coverage, and predictable vertical coverage.
XLD281
The XLD281 is the core element for constructing X-Line Very Compact systems. The XLD281 is a three–way design using Coverage Control Technology (CCT™) to provide control horizontal coverage to 250Hz.
The XLD281 uses an eight-inch, neodymium, low-frequency transducer, an eight-inch, neodymium, LF/MB transducer, and two neodymium, two-inch, voice-coil compression drivers combining through two Hydra™ plane wave generators into a 120 degree x 10 degree waveguide. CCT™ uses both eight-inch transducers to provide maximum low-frequency output and operating bandwidth while controlling horizontal beamwidth to 250 Hz by using DSP. The XLD281 can be used in triamp mode, or in biamp using a sophisticated internal passive network.
Designed for use in arrays of four or more elements, the XLD281 delivers full-bandwidth audio with precise, predictable coverage control. Integrated rigging with hinge points located correctly between array elements is easy to use and quickly provides uncompromised line array performance. Ground-stacking is easy using array rails or subwoofers as the array base.
